Cool gas station for going to Germany (as most gas stations are nearby). I found two guys going all the way to Bamberg within a few minutes.

The gas station is much better. I was here when the station was closed, and there is not much space for a car to stop.

Safe spot with a short wait.

Easy to get to from the center. I didn't even wait a minute for a ride to Jablonec.

Update! There is a new highway around Krčmaň village so this spot has very little trafic now.

Great spot, because it’s on main road to Krkonose mountains. Cars can safely stop on unused bus stop. Only cons of this spot is that the cars cannot see you from far.

Two wonderful germans took us directly to Prague. Optimal spot, directly on the highway, petrol station and lots of traffic there mostly going to Prague. Chaka.

Not really good spot to go from Stará Boleslav to the north, but the best in Stará Boleslav I think. On the road to the highway exit, there is some dirty space where cars can stop. Road is straight and cars go slow, but most of them go to Prague or it is a local traffic, do not very much cars go to the north. Sign reccomended. Still got ride to Mladá Boleslav in 40 minutes.

Quite good spot to HH to Poland, gravel place in front of a house, some space to stop, but not too much. But probably better than a bus stop, bc the stop is in a curve and drivers cant see yoi well. Cars go slow, mostly to Poland I think. Got ride to Lubawka on 25 minutes.

it's a great spot. there is a lot of traffic so i caught someone in like 5mins. there is also a space for stoppimg so you don't have to worry about that. i can only recomend

previous ride dropped us here, not ideal, traffic is too fast, you have to go around and ask people. our destination was vienna, but writing a sign for mikulov got us a ride with a very nice local guy quickly and from there it’s super easy to get to vienna, took us less than 5min

lots of traffic, unfortunately we had to wait a lot longer than anticipated. talked with an elderly couple with vienna plate two minutes after reaching the spot but they didn’t want to take us with them. after that just waited at the exit, there’s an „official hitchhiking spot“ sticker had two signs, vienna and brno, got picked up by two workers on their way to brno. seems way easier than going straight to vienna

Not a lot of traffic in the direction of Austria (we were there from 10:30 am to 1pm and maybe around 10 cars every 10 minutes) and actively holding out our sign and asking people for 1 hour. If you ask for the highway A2 a lot more people are willing to take you. But not ideal to go all the way to Vienna in one ride.

Almost only local people going to Prague (but quite frequently) and not very willing to take 3 people in. Not ideal to go in the direction of Brno so we went back to the bigger gas station north.

Not the best place to go in the direction of Brno (D1 highway). A lot of cars stop here but most people only go to Prague. We (3 women) were asking around for 2 hours (from 4pm to 6pm) until a guy headed towards Slovakia took us with him.

Mid spot. It is in a curve, so cars go slow and also can see you (despite curve). Enough place to stop at the surrounding field track, but also not too much. Still got a ride to Horka in 10 minutes.

Good spot to go to Poland, but also quite a lot of local traffic, got rie to Bernartice in 20 minutes. Enough place to stop on gravel places next to the road.

Quite good spot cars go slow and they can go into a small parking where is a lot of place to stop. But traffic is mostly local and not high intensity of traffic, so it took me 60 minutes (maybe i was unlucky). Still the best spot in Horka to direction Trutnov i think.

The spot itself is not bad, but I guess I was very unlucky and I was stuck here overnight, there is a lot of traffic to Germany and the Czech Republic, there are free toilets, sockets, drinking water

There were two of us, standing with a sign saying "OSTRAVA." It was a great spot, even though it was Sunday. We were picked up by a couple from the Czech Republic who were going to Zator (POLAND).

Cool spot, lots of traffic. Lots of people heading to Zagreb, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Poland. I was traveling alone, male.

good place, easily accessible by public transport. A truck driver from Turkey picked me up after 30 minutes to the border, after the border a couple from the Czech Republic.

A good place if you want to go towards Italy, France and Germany or the Czech Republic. We were heading towards Budapest and we had some difficulties to find someone who was driving in that direction. But a lot can depend on what time you hitchhiking. On the plus side, a lot of trucks and quite a lot of passenger car traffic at the gas station. A good place to stop/accommodate. There is a shower, laundry, hostel.

Super easy spot heading west! Cars slow down as they approach the town, and it seems like many are just passing through, heading either west or south. I managed to get a ride all the way to the Czech Republic (hey, Leon 👋). A lot of cars, though!

If you're trying to cross the border into the Czech republic then this is the place to be. Good traffic and it's possible for the drivers to stop just before entering the on ramp. Of you're patient then it should be possible to get a ride to Prague from here.

Impossible trip to the Czech Republic, 4 hours and nothing. it's better to choose a different place

We're extremely lucky, the first car took us until Nordhausen (we're heading to Harz) but generally very good spot for going to Germany. All Germans stops here because the gas is cheaper in the Czech Republic and it's the last gas station before Germany.

I was left here by driver who took me from Krakow (late Sunday) and just after I left the car and asked the first I noticed there (many stop for gas, to rest etc.) I had a lift to connect A1 (I needed to go the the Czech Republic border).

Over one year later, I was here again, and have to take back what I said before. The place where I hitchhiked last year is not a good spot. This time I hitchhiked right next Mercur and ofter 20 mins got a lift to the highway. Unless it is Friday and lots of Poles and Czechs are going home the chance someone will take you to the Czech Republic is low, so hitchhike without a sign, and get as far as you can ;)

Friday morning only few cars were going to the Czech Republic. Waiting 2 hours. (But good place for spent time - in fuel station is unlimited free wifi and electricity with tables)

not really sure if this was the spot, but most probably it was, anyway, here should be a bus statio which is a great spot towards the Czech Republic, cars stop at the lights and have enough space to pull over. I was there about 30 min and then a guy took me about 20-30 km further.

got a ride to the czech republic in 30 mins or so. the traffic is dense and there is a lot of space - an overall good spot. didn't get a direct ride to prague though

in february 2013 there was almost nobody going in direction of the czech republic. got stuck here for 6 hours. traffic is good to munich!

Decent traffic going to the Czech republic and further. I got a ride with a Slovaki on her way home.

Probably the best place of Grafenau, direction Freyung. There is almost nobody going to the Czech Republic though.
